Since I am SO OVER finals... and I am running out of ways to procrastinate (Yes, even went to gym as a homework break... I know.. I might be ill) here is the latest in the line of "that's what the kids are saying these days?!?!" to make you feel as old as I feel every time I go home.
I swear, sometimes going to talk to my sisters needs an urban dictionary all the time. They speak a different language. Here are a few things I go out of them this last trip home:

What the kids are calling it... again.
Today I had yet another opportunity to say "that's what the kids are calling it these days?". Good Lord so I feel old.
For those of you who are out of the teen loop, here is a brief update on the lingo according to my teenage sisters... Brace yourselves.
1. GLOTI: Good look on the invite. (Thanks for the invite, Sarcastically)
Used in a sentence:
"We went to lunch today..." me
"GLOTI! Geez!" Calle
2. Thot: a hoe.
According to Urban Dictionary: Originally standing for "that hore out there". (I suppose kids also cannot spell.)
Used in a sentence: That girl is such a thot!"
3. Baump: You're wrong.
Used in a sentence: "mmmm baump! Shut up!"
4. Bae: Before Anything Else (or a shortened form of Babe, because that extra 'b' really makes it too long)
Used in a sentence: "He's my bae"
5. Simp: Can be a verb or a noun. Basically meaning in touch with emotional side.
Used in a sentence: "Let me simp to you / that guy is such a simp."
6. What's Gucci?: Another way of asking 'what's up?'
Used in a sentence: "Hey bro! What's Gucci?"
7. Fit: Outfit (because apparently saying the entire word is too time consuming)
Used in a sentence: "I am feeling your fit today!"
8. TU: Turn up (Party)
Used in a sentence: "This weekend we are gonna turn up!"
9. TD: Turn down, to be boring, stay home/stay in
Used in a sentence: "Nah bro, I'm probably gonna TD tonight, it's been a long week."
10. TDFW: Turned down for what (why are you being boring?)
Used in a sentence: "Bro, TDFW! You never come out!"
So this is what the kids are saying this days. I feel so old and yet so glad to not be in that generation. What every happened to words like Party, Staying in, and just the good old fashioned Ho?

Overdone
Sunday I started the "Max Capacity Training". Wow that was painful but I pushed through thinking that stopping was not helping me at all. So after that I felt sore but good. I relaxed most of Sunday and then on sunday night I was watching America's Next Top Model reruns. Not a good idea. That show always makes me feel huge!! And it makes me feel old as of lately because all those girls are 18 and 19. Well I got up and did pilates- right there on the spot! In retrospect that was the nail in the coffin because two days later and my legs are still in pain. So much pain that my Gram is laughing at me because she says I'm like an 80 year old woman.
I wanted to go for a run later tonight, but I am trying to get my legs back into working order because Thursday I am going to the Cardiologist for a stress test and an echo. Onto the topic of the Cardio- This week I have been forced to wear a King of Hearts monitor, which is really more a pain than anything else. Basically these two electrodes are on my body and I hook a portable monitor to it and press the button when I am having pain or trouble breathing- no big right? Well the electrodes itch like there is no tomorrow!!!! Seriously! Driving me nuts! But oh well, I've added it to my life adventure, which is really all I can do.
I'm an old woman
Cheques. When did carrying your cheques around become so old school? I was at the Fossil Store today in downtown disney and I was looking at a wallet and the sales guy says "Oh, that wallet is great if you are a 'stuffer', the kind of person who stuffs everything into their wallet". To this I made a comment about it being large enough to hold my cheques.
He laughed! And then proceeded to tell me that only women approaching AARP membership age carry cheques. One more thing that makes me an old woman at heart. The funny thing is that the woman shopping near me pipes up and said she carries cheques too! And she was only about 35 so that means it can't just be me who carries these handy little pieces of paper around, right?
